Storyline:

Celebrations of the annual Independence Day broke out in the streets of Washington Monday, in areas around the White House and the US Congress building.

Huge crowds celebrated the Fourth of July, which included fireworks and bands.

Citizens voiced their happiness with these festivities after a two-year hiatus due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

Shot list:

Soundbite (Erin Simon – American woman):

“excited after a couple of years of being in the house with Covid and not being able to go out to do things or enjoy certain holidays it is just fantastic to be with everybody. The fireworks we have seen on TV my daughter has never seen in person and for me, it was 20 years ago. We are just super excited to be able to celebrate the fourth.”

Soundbite (Jason Robinson – American man):

“It is just really cool, especially after Covid it is nice to get everyone together. It is nice seeing everyone out drinking and having fun. I am staying with my friends there. I have met with them for the last two years. It is really good.”

Soundbite (Lorne Hampton – American woman):

“The 4th of July I think is just a fun American pastime celebration for all of us to forget about certain current events going on and just really think about our roots here in the United States.”
