“This year is better than past ones, we can go out and shop comfortably. Family gatherings are back and Ramadan is as it used to be before COVID-19. Prices are high but the joy of children during Eid is more important so we bought them new clothes. We also bought sweets, which are necessary during such occasions.”

“Everyone is happy during this time preparing sweets or Eid food. We buy clothes and toys for children because their happiness matters the most to us. I have been at the market since morning and still have not bought anything as prices are high this year. Hopefully I can find something nice and affordable.”

Soundbite (Tunisian citizen):

“I would like to express my appreciation for the family and my wife. There is a Tunisian custom of preparing a gift for the lady of the house at the end of Ramadan thanking her for her efforts throughout the month.
