Directorate for Mine Action held a meeting with international and local organizations, representatives of the embassies of European Union countries, and companies specialized in the field of demining to carry out clearance of explosive hazards.

The meeting discussed the survey of mine-affected areas after the end of military operations there, and plans for mine action, including quality management, coordination activities, mine risk education, and other concerns.

We have been working in Iraq for many years now, and with the kind generosity of many, many donors have funded clearance efforts across Iraq from Sinjar in the north through Tal Afar, Mosul, Kirkuk, Ramadi, Fallujah, and most recently in Basra as well. Wherever the DMA identifies, priorities for clearance needs and must do its best to try to identify and generate support to finance that clearance effort.”
