Arab Union for Electronic Media organized an event marking International Women’s Day, in Baghdad,

The event addressed the challenges facing Arab women in general and Iraqi women in particular, throughout the wars and economic crises they witnessed as well as the Corona pandemic and its impact on the family.

Under these difficult circumstances, women have proven to everyone their competence in developing their capabilities to be active in the political arena as they assumed leadership positions in Iraq and the Arab world, and succeeded in the difficult tasks in various aspects of life.

“We seek to empower women to enable them to live a dignified life. After the wars in Iraq, women needed to depend on themselves, to work and support their families even if she is unmarried. We are working on developing her capabilities and trying to ensure her rights.”

“Arab women in general and Iraqi women, in particular, are facing great challenges, in political, after the pandemic or challenges of life. Today, women are facing these issues in a different way than before. Today women are trying to be a leader, ministers, a parliamentarian, and a director in all fields. Now women in society lead successfully and the Arab world has begun to open up providing women the opportunity in all aspects of life.”

“This event is a great honor for the Iraqi women as they have suffered the consequence of Corona pandemic and the economic crises. All these issues affected the Iraqi family, especially the Iraqi women. We came today to support them presenting a simple gift.”
