Storyline

Kongra Star Women’s Organization (Kurdish for Star Congress), in northern and eastern Syria, marked the International Women’s Day, theme “Together we protect our revolution and liberate our lands.”

The celebration, held outdoor, in the presence of women from different components of north and east Syria, in addition to women’s associations and organizations, featured several folkloric dance performances and folk songs about women.

The female American soldiers of the international coalition forces participated in the celebration wearing the Kurdish costumes and taking  part in the folk dance.

The attendees wished women in general and who are on the battlefronts, in particular, who participate in battles alongside men to defend their land, a happy women’s day.
