Turkey – Istanbul seeks to increase the number of women working as metro train driver
The subway train “metro” in Turkey’s cities constitutes a basic need in the country in which nearly 17 million people live, distributed throughout most of its parts, the Istanbul municipality is seeking to raise the number of women working in the profession of subway (metro) driver, where 120 turkish women are currently working as a metro driver, out of a total of 800 drivers in general, and only three years ago there were 8 women working as metro drivers, but the continuous increase in the number of lines raised the percentage to more than 15 times to work in 16 lines in the city, with a total of 189 stations.
