Tunisia: Clashes between Demonstrators and Security Forces Broke Out

Upon the death of a detainee held at the police station and a barbaric assault on a child by the security forces, demonstrations in Tunis turned into fierce clashes with security forces coupled with hit and run operations in residential areas. The public outrage resulted in a material loss in Avenue Habib Bourguiba’s cafes. From its part, the Ministry of Interior declared launching a probe into the incident and confirmed that these individual practices will be rigidly dealt with
