United States – Controversy over the ability of Gulf States to deter Iran

The protection file of maritime navigation in the Gulf is a priority for the U.S. administration. Some political analysts believe that the US administration is ready to defend the Gulf countries against Iranian attacks in exchange for defense expenses, while others found that the GCC countries are capable themselves to protect its oil tankers and commercial ships and pointed out the necessity of  international community intervene to deter Iran.
