Warsaw – Poland 14/02/2019
At the close of the Warsaw Conference on Peace and Security in the Middle East, a joint press conference was held by Mike Pompeo, the US Secretary of State, and his Polish counterpart Jacek Czaputowicz where both noted differences of opinion over policies toward Iran. Pompeo said that the conference addressed Iran’s acts that pose a threat to the regional and global security by supporting armed militias that spread chaos in several countries in the region. The conference also discussed ways to enhance electronic security between the countries, as well as ways to fight terrorism, considering that Iran poses the biggest threat in the Middle East. Pompeo also confirmed Washington’s desire to enforce further sanctions on the Iranian regime.
