Palestine – Female degree holders work in a potato factory to avoid unemployment
Gaza-Palestine 08/02/2019
To avoid poverty and unemployment, female degree holders sought employment at the Rosetta Potato Factory in Gaza, as part of a new initiative launched by the Agricultural Cooperative Society in partnership with “Together” foundation, with the support of Oxfam Charitable Organization in Gaza, with the aim of empowering women economically, by providing them with job opportunities, especially those with university degrees, as well as supporting Palestinian farmers. Gaza grows more potatoes than the local market needs, so the factory takes the extra harvest and get it ready to be supplied to Gaza’s restaurants, along with frozen potatoes, which have a long expiry date and can be stored in refrigerators for up to one year.
