Torture in detention centers and prisons is against the Universal Declaration of Human Rights and the Constitution of the Second Republic in post-revolution Tunisia. The security services in Tunisia continue to use torture as punishment and as a way of getting confessions without paying attention to international conventions to protect the physical sanctity of detainees, they even used power to settle personal accounts.
