  • Soundbite (Khawla Al-Maqrani – Project Coordinator at I Watch):

“Today was the closing ceremony of our project. This project started in October 2019. It aims to support municipalities and civil society. We supported 216 municipalities in training on the Access to Information Law 2016. As we know, the municipalities and administrations are not cooperating with the citizens when they request information, and this is a universal right, so we tried to implement the right of access to information with what we can provide as an I-Watch organization.”

  • Soundbite (Taher Ferchishi – Member of   I Watch ):

“Evaluating the application of access to information cannot be in a blind way because we have municipalities that are still learning, so we cannot deal with mayors who have 3 years of experience, just as we deal with a management that has a ten-year experience. So, in my opinion, access to information must be taught to the administration and the citizens, and then we get to the evaluation. My evaluation will not be objective with the municipalities, and they are in a learning stage more than an evaluation stage.”
