Storyline

Baghdad has concluded the fourteenth session of the Wasiti Festival that included the opening of the Hall of the National Museum of Modern Art, which was named after the late artist Faiq Hassan.

The hall contains about 90 artworks by the pioneers of Iraqi plastic art.

75 plastic artworks, 36 sculptural works, and 6 ceramic works were displayed in three halls.

“This hall contains works of pioneers and contemporary artists. These works participated in the exhibition and were displayed to visitors. The Arabic calligraphy hall and two large halls were opened and display the works of young Iraqi artists.”

“70 Iraqi artists presented their paintings, pottery, and sculpture at this festival. Each artist has the freedom to present whatever he wants. 11 expatriate artists joined and support the Festival.”
