 (SOUNDBITE) Jimin Ismail – Artist:

“This is my thirteenth gallery, but it is the third themed of flowers. Behind every exhibition of mine, there is a motive. My first gallery was in 2000, we were in a civil war and waiting for peace, and this waiting troubles me. Therefore, in my journey towards safety, peace, and comfort, I started drawing flowers. It made me feel comfortable. Flowers imply life.”

(SOUNDBITE) Mohamed Fattah – Director of Culture and Arts department:

“Jimen Ismail is one of the well-known artists in the field of plastic arts in the whole region. She perseveres in her distinguished style. We see some of her works, themed on flowers. We wish Jimen all the best. She is the pride of Kurdish art, now and in the future.”

 (SOUNDBITE) Naima Mohamed – visitor:

“The artist Jimen is known by her style. She does draw abstract objects; rather she draws bouquets with her technique and style. When you see the painting, you think that it is an imaginary painting”
