Tunisia – Tunisia hosts the fifth session of Maghreb Couscous Festival
The fifth session of the Maghreb couscous festival started today in Tunisia with a display of different techniques of preparing the traditional couscous in various Tunisian areas, and from the other Maghreb and African countries. Couscous is a centuries-old dish that was popular in North Africa. It is made of wheat flour, usually as tiny beads, and cooked on steam. Couscous is a primary dish that rarely missing from the table, however, UNESCO added it and its information on the Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity for the Maghreb countries on December 16, 2020.
