USA – The United States mark its independence from Britain

Today, Sunday, The United States of America marked the day of the Declaration of Independence from Britain in 1776, where the celebrations this year were limited to decorating the streets with American flags and roaming citizens and visitors in the gardens surrounding the White House and the Congress Building, amid a heavy security presence. Independence Day is a tradition to celebrate the Fourth of July every year and has become a federal holiday since 1941, as families and friends gather in parks and hold parties, performances, concerts, and fireworks displays.
