Turkey – You can feel the suffering of the deaf, dumb, and blind at the Dialogue Museum
The title of a place called “I do not see, I do not hear, I do not speak” catches the eye in Istanbul, near the metro station in the Gayrettepe district as it was opened by the Turkish “Hakan Alper” to experience and convey the suffering of people with special needs and their sense of what they feel. The place visited by more than 50,000 visitors annually is divided into two sections, but before entering any section, you must put any electronic devices inside a safe box outside the rooms. The tour begins by entering successive rooms, in which you do not hear anything. You only have to communicate in sign language, and when it ends, you move to a series of other rooms in which it is forbidden to speak, and you also communicate in sign language or drawings, just to feel a sense of blindness. You also climb stairs and sit in a garden surrounded by the sound of water and birds, and you stay 50 minutes, after which you come out as if you entered a place a long time ago and filled with feelings of people with special needs.
