Tunisia – Experts: Tunisia undergoes tough economic reforms with International Monetary Fund
The Tunisian government is undergoing technical negotiations with representatives of the International Monetary Fund to obtain a loan of 4 billion dollars, which is the largest amount Tunisia has borrowed since its independence. For the approval of international donors, Tunisia is committed to implementing economic reforms in return, which experts have described as extremely tough because it affects citizens directly as part of it involves lifting subsidies on basic materials, like foodstuffs and fuel, Tunisia has also committed to the Fund to reduce employees and workers’ wages.
