Turkey – A vigil in front of the Syrian Consulate in Istanbul against the presidential elections

Dozens of Syrian refugees held a vigil, in Istanbul, against the Syrian government’s organizing presidential elections led by the current President Bashar al-Assad. The protestors pointed out that these elections are illegal, emphasizing that the international community does not accept them. Presidential elections will be held in Syria, on May 26, whereas on Thursday, Syrian embassies and consulates abroad started collecting the electoral votes of expatriates.
