Tunisia – Amid a government-parliamentary crisis, a nationwide protest by Ennahda movement to protect institutions

Tunisia has seen one of the biggest protests since the revolution of 2011 as tens of thousands of Ennahda supporters assembled in a march in the center of the capital, amid political, economic, and social crises. Supporters of the movement came out following calls from leaders of the movement to rise amid the constitutional crisis that has delayed the government amendment for more than a month. Thousands of party supporters gathered in central Tunis, Mohamed V Street, next to Habib Bourguiba Street, where the security forces banned the protest for months and closed most of the entrances. The leader of Ennahda and Parliament Speaker “Rashid Ghannouchi” gave a speech calling for unity, collaboration, and the rejection of violence, emphasizing unity and dialogue. Meanwhile, the Ennahda movement was the first in the parliament to call for the March days ago under the slogan “The March of Stability and Institutional Support”.
