Palestine: Ban Ki-moon considers Gaza Siege a group punishment

UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon arrived today to the Gaza Strip during his regional tour to the region, and in a press conference held inside an UNRWA school, he stressed the need to lift the siege on the Gaza Strip which he saw as collective punishment, and pointed out that 70% of Gaza’s population needs humanitarian aid

 

UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon arrived today to the Gaza Strip during his regional tour to the region, and in a press conference held inside an UNRWA school, he stressed the need to lift the siege on the Gaza Strip which he saw as collective punishment, and pointed out that 70% of Gaza’s population needs humanitarian aid and half of Gaza youth are unemployed which increased their anger and desperation. He also expressed his appreciation to the population challenging the war and facing life. 90% of schools and hospitals that was destroyed in 2014 war is rebuilt but thousands of houses is still destroyed and need reconstruction.
