Bahrain- Analysts: US insistence to Intensify Economic Sanctions on Iran isn’t Surprising

Analysts indicated that US insistence to intensify economic sanctions on Iran isn’t surprising, as Iranian moves pose clear threats to the Middle East. They also pointed out that there is a consensus on the necessity of deterring Iran’s regional expanding goals. Economic sanctions have made it difficult for Iran to fund their affiliates, especially Hezbollah in Syria, Houthis in Yemen, and others. They added that the US is having a hard time convincing the European Union of the need to extend sanctions on Iran. The US also needs to enforce peace in The Gulf States’ waters by intensifying pressure on Iran
