Yemen- Government’s Joint Forces Repelled a large scale-Offensive by Houthis, Killing Dozens and Causing Severe losses

Government’s joint forces, in the west coast’s front in central Yemen, repelled a large scale-offensive by Houthis towards 16 kilometers in district of Ad Durayhimi, south of Hodeidah. The Houthis’ forces were forced to trickle back, after a fierce battle that killed dozens and caused severe losses among Houthis’ troops. The Giants Brigades of the Yemeni army said that Houthis forces launched strikes on peaceful citizen’s houses wounding a child and two others.  This escalation took place amid UN Special Envoy for Yemen Martin Griffiths calls to immediately stop hostilities, saying that such flare up not only constitutes a violation of the Hudaydah (Stockholm) ceasefire but also to the whole political operation
