Lebanon- Offshore Drilling in Block number 9 for oil is Contingent Upon Demarcation of Maritime Border
Beirut -Lebanon 02/10/2020
Analysts pointed out that offshore drilling in the two blocks 9 and 4 in the Mediterranean for oil and gas is contingent upon the demarcation of the maritime border. It is because oil giants don’t work in disputed areas as block number 9, located in such an area. Analysts added that according to the sectarian quota in Lebanon, no maritime demarcation will take place, especially that the Shiite Duo considers that block 9 is part of their financial share. The Shiite Duo deems block 9 as a winning card that would have a high yield.
