Bahrain – Bahrain and US agree on need to deter and punish Iran

Bahraini Foreign Minister Abdullatif bin Rashid Al Zayani stressed the need to continue the United States for its efforts to deter Iran and undermine its ongoing activities and threats to the region and its interference in the internal affairs of neighboring countries. Al-Zayani stressed during a joint press conference with the US special envoy to Iran, Brian Hook, that Bahrain supports with all its capabilities those American efforts, especially as his country was affected by the actions of Iran, which since 2011 funded some 29,000 sabotage acts in Bahrain.For his part, the US special envoy said that Bahrain’s security is a top priority for the United States of America, noting that Tehran is still continuing its practices and support for violence and terrorism in the region, stressing that the arms embargo imposed by the United Nations on Iran must remain in effect.
