Bahrain – Displeasure with Iran’s continued provocation of Gulf states
Manama – Bahrain 07/05/2020
Iran’s Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei’s recent tweet on his Twitter page, in which he said that “the Persian Gulf is our home and the place of the great Iranian people,” that “the Persian Gulf coast, in addition to a large area of the Gulf coast of Oman are related to the Iranian people,” has provoked great resentment in Gulf political and media circles, as well as the statement of the Commander of the Navy of the Iranian Revolutionary Guard, Alireza Tangsiri, that “the Persian Gulf belongs to Iran and no one can falsify its name”, and that “Bahrain was part of Iranian territory until the year 1970, Kuwait or Kut means the installation of rare tents in Persian.” Political analyst Salah al-Jouder, confirmed the incorrect statements of Iranian officials about the Gulf states and the history of the region, adding that the Iranian speech continues to escalate the clash with the Gulf states attributing these repeated and old statements to the repercussions of the U.S. embargo on the Iranian economy, and its inability to face the United States directly, so it resorts threatening Bahrain and the State of Kuwait in particular.
