Tunisia: Conclusion of the Arab Festival for Radio and Television.

The 17th Arab Festival for Radio and Television concluded today in Hammamet north-east of Tunisia with a concert with the Arab artist Wael Jassar and artist Mehirziya Altaweel followed by awards ceremony for radio and television competitions.

Arab States Broadcasting Union decided for the first time to allow the participation of Arabic speaking foreign broadcasts and participation of more than 230 work of radio and television from across the Arab world in various fields, and a variety of programs geared to children and women, and a number of documentaries and talk shows and soap operas .
Tunisian radio has won the first prize in the contest for the social drama titled “victim” and Tunisian television got the second prize in the contest for Social serials series “air chain.”
Qatari radio won the first prize for special programs for Palestinian cause through participation of program “flower of cities,” the second prize for Kuwait Radio for “Arab Quds” and the first prize for children program, “Saud and Sarah in Quran kindergarten” produced by Legends Arabia institution.
At the conclusion of this session, participants praised the good organization and the importance of such events in the exchange of experiences among Arab media institutions.
