Palestine – Youth team shelters stray animals in Gaza

Young Palestinian women launched an initiative to shelter, feed and care for stray animals from cats and dogs in the Gaza Strip, through forming a youth team named “Strays of Gaza”, this changed the conditions of cats that were insignificant in the Gaza Strip, after having received attention from the team which also conducts field based awareness campaigns for the largest possible number of cats and dogs at the crossroads and between the streets and even below the vehicles in Gaza according to available and self-contained capabilities, the initiator, Razan Najjar, indicated that the team was facing several difficulties, such as the lack of veterinary doctors, the lack of physical and psychological support, and the lack of a place to shelter these animals permanently, the team has so far rescued more than 32 cats, 7 dogs and dozens of birds.
