Palestine – Artist turns tear gas canisters into artistic designs and accessories

Palestinian artist, Akram Alwaara, from Aida refugee camp in northen Bethlehem, was creative in transforming the tools of killing and war into tools of love and peace by converting Israeli tear gas canisters into various forms and designs and accessories with militant, patriotic and humanitarian symbols, reflecting the Palestinian reality under the occupation with its repression and multi-form racism, as well as the wall, the siege, and the killing and destruction, his shop that is now located beside the gate of Aida Camp has become a centre for visitors and tourists to the city of Bethlehem to buy these ornaments and artistic designs.
