Tunisia – 30th IFJ Conference held in Tunis for the first time

Under the slogan “For a Free Press”, the International Federation of Journalists (IFJ) Conference was held this morning to elect the president and members of the executive body of the Federation in Tunisia’s capital.  More than 300 journalists have participated in the conference from more than 120 countries. During the opening session of the conference, the future of Journalism in a digital world issue was in addition to the issue of union practices around the world were addressed. It also addressed the situation of the press and media in the countries that experienced revolutions and instability. In addition to praising the role of the Arab women journalists in the countries that have experienced wars including Iraq, Syria and Yemen, which contributed to the development of the press work and media in terms of transparency and neutrality. The presidents of the Arab journalists’ unions are seeking high representation in the IFJ to influence and protect the freedom of expression and freedom of press around the world.
