Somalia – Consultative conference for convergence of views between Somalia leaders

The Somali President Mohamed Abdullah Farmajo and the Prime Minister Hassan Ali Khairi continue to hold meetings with heads of regional states inGarowe, northeastern Puntland with the aim of resolving disputes between the Somali parties on different political and security issues. The meetings are also expected to come up with a strategy for the country’s election, which are scheduled to be held when the federal government is over in 2020. Analysts pointed out that the majority of the issues that were discussed during the conference cannot be resolved in one session, and that they require further meetings to achieve convergence of views.
