Palestine – Officials: Israel has not abided by Egyptian-brokered understandings and continues its aggression

Political officials and analysts affirmed that the Gaza Strip is currently experiencing an Israeli military escalation on top of the pressure and siege that has been enforced on the Gaza Strip for years. They stated that Israel has not complied with the Egyptian-brokered understandings and it continues to carry out different sorts of aggression against the Gaza Strip, noting that Israel tends to violate any deals or truces in an attempt to pressure the Palestinian people into giving up their right. The spokesman of the Islamic Jihad Movement, Mus’ab al-Barim, said that the resistance assured Egypt, which is mediating between the two countries, that peace will not be accomplished at the expense of the Palestinian people, pointing out that they will not allow Israel enjoy calm while the Palestinian people and the resistance pay the price for it. It is worth mentioning that the death toll in Gaza has risen to 14 victims since last Friday, as a result of Israeli strikes and bombardment that Israel launched against Gaza as the cross-border fighting continues for the third day. Three Israelis were also killed by strikes launched by the Palestinian resistance.
