Tunisia – Taxi drivers protest against fuel price hike

Taxi drivers staged a demonstration outside the parliament to protest against the Prime Minister’s decision to raise fuel prices, considering that this decision is unfair to Tunisian citizens because it is not well thought out. This price hike applies to all sectors related to fuel, including industry and agriculture, and it also affects all the citizens, not only taxi drivers and low-income members. The protestors threatened to escalate if the government does not withdraw the price hike decision. It is worth mentioning that most of Tunisia’s governorates are currently witnessing protests following the decision.
