Somalia – Cancer increasingly spreads among citizen
Mogadishu – Somalia 03/12/2019
Cancer is increasingly spreading among citizens in the capital Mogadishu, at a time when the city is facing a severe shortage of medical centers for treating cancer patients, not to mention the lack of medical supplies, tools and medicines. An oncologist stated that the rotten foodstuffs that get exported to the country, the expired medicines, and the industrial waste thrown in the sea, in addition to the psychological effects of the ongoing wars in Somalia, all lead to increased number of cancer patients. He also pointed out that there are no precise statistics on the number of cancer patients in Somalia.
