Tunisia’s health minister Abdel-Raouf El-Sherif has resigned following the deaths of 11 newborn babies at Rabta hospital in Tunis, the capital. The health ministry and state prosecutors have opened investigations into the cause of the babies’ mysterious deaths, which is likely caused by blood infections resulting from being injected with a product that had gone bad. According to resources, further newborns are facing the danger of death, where over 80 newborns got infected. Tunisians staged protests in the streets of Tunis to condemn this incident, which was described as a crime, according to protesters.
