Libya – Women use painting as a weapon to fight violence

A group of Libyan girls have been using the art of painting as a weapon to fight for women’s rights and fight against gender-based violence. Those teen girls, whose ages range from thirteen to eighteen years old, used vibrant colors to paint portraits that depict what is on their minds and show the deep resentment they harbor against their social reality that marginalizes women through its unfair norms and traditions that bring women down to the bottom of the social pyramid.
