Tunisia – 650,000 employees strike for higher wages
Bardo Square – Tunis – Tunisia 22/11/2018
Around 650,000 governmental employees in all Tunisian provinces staged a general strike called by the Tunisian General Labor Union. Thousands of unionists gathered today in Bardo Square opposite to the Tunisian parliament to demand an increase in wages that may enhance their purchasing power. Protesters had many demands including government’s resignation; analysts considered calling for a general strike is a legitimate tool to get protesters’ rights in style and dignity.
