Iraq – Kurdistan Festival for Music and Song kicks off in Erbil

The Kurdistan Festival for Folk Kurdish Music and Song kicked off in Erbil, with the participation of musical bands from Kurdistan, and Kurdish bands from Turkey, Iran and Syria. The first festival presented Kurdish folk music and traditional songs, in an attempt to introduce the new generation and the world to Kurdish music. Kurdish artists and musicians are seeking to develop the festival so that its next events would be world-wide, to attract international musical bands with diverse cultural backgrounds.
