Palestine – Politicians appreciate the Jordanian king’s decision to cancel the Baqoura and Ghumar annexes in peace treaty with Israel

Palestinian politicians praised the decision made by Jordan’s King Abdullah II to notify Israel of terminating the Baqoura and Ghumar annexes in peace treaty between Jordan and Israel, therefore returning those leased areas back to Jordan, pointing out that this wise and historical decision triggered a shock to Israel, and that it came at just the right time as the Palestinian people are fighting a war against the Israeli occupier to regain their land. The decision also acted as an indication of the growing Jordanian political role and stressed Jordan’s ability to regain its territory, regardless of the agreement signed in Wadi Araba in 1994.
