Libya- Calls for rescue to protect civilians in areas of clashes in Tripoli
The Libyan Organization for Human Rights confirmed that it is closely following and documenting violations against civilians in areas of clashes between the armed battalions in the city of Tripoli. The President of the Libyan Human Rights Organization Hanan Al-Sherif explained that she is in constant contact with the UN human rights organizations inside and outside Libya, noting that the organization sent urgent rescue letters to the UN mission in the country in addition to the Red Crescent, in order to work to ensure the safety of civilians and protect them from being subjected to any violations by the fighting battalions in Tripoli. It is noteworthy that the armed conflict between the seventh brigade and the Tripoli rebels battalion has killed about 160 and wounded hundreds, before the Brigades announced an interim agreement to a ceasefire.
