Tunisia – Wide criticism of the policy of addressing the economic situation

The policy followed by Tunisian Prime Minister Yousef Al-Shahid in dealing with the economic situation has only been widely criticized by citizens and economists. Economist Jannat Ben Abdullah explained that the stifling financial crisis in Tunisia was caused by government laws that contributed to the deterioration of the purchasing power and the value of the Tunisian currency. She also said that this puts the country under the tutelage of the International Monetary Fund, creditors and financiers of its economy without relying on their resources in the economic growth, and in turn citizens expressed dissatisfaction with this policy amid rising prices and unemployment rate.
