Libya – Shady election scene prevails in Libya

The presidential and legislative electoral scene of 2018 raises controversy in Libya’s popular and political circles. Candidates see difficulties and doubts as the needs of the people have not been met yet because of their mismanagement in choosing the country’s legislative body previously. On the other hand, politicians pointed out that the security instability will negatively affect the elections as some armed parties control parts of western Libya, despite the victories achieved by the Libyan armed forces in the eastern region. Citizens hope the elections scheduled for the end of this year will improve the security and economic situations in the country.
