Tunisia : Youth reluctance to work in the silk industry

Tunisia is known for many ancient crafts and industries but the silk industry is one of the most important crafts in the ancient city and specifically in Alraba’a alley. The industry is threatened with extinction and disappearance because of the economic crisis experienced by the country and the reluctance of young people to learn fabric weaving, as well as the lack of interest among citizens to buy silk products, which are the most important characteristic of Tunisian traditional dress such as “Jabba” and “Alsfsari” and “Haraam”.
