Tunisia – Activists support Sibsi’s new calls on women

The new invitations launched by Tunisian President Béji Caid al-Sibsi in regard to the equality of inheritance between male and female and the possibility of Muslim women marrying a non-Muslim, supported by the Tunisian House of Ifta, sparked a wide debate in the Tunisian street, especially after Al-Azhar’s condemnation of these invitations, as they are not compatible with the provisions of the Islamic law, according to Al Azhar’s statement.
