Storyline:
Lebanese authorities have begun removing concrete barriers that have blocked access to Parliament in Beirut since 2019.
A number of the new MPs had called for the restrictions to be eased before they attend the first session of the new parliament, which has yet to be scheduled.
The decision came in the wake of settlements between the political forces in Lebanon, where the deputies put pressure on removing the cement blocks.
The Lebanese authorities had set up the wall of concrete blocks during the October 17 uprising near the Riad El Solh Square, which the protesters called “the wall of shame”. Security measures were taken around the Parliament to block the way for protesters to reach there.
