Storyline:
Syrian regime and its Russian and Iranian allies have used various methods to suppress the protesters and the opposition, including the continuous Russian bombing of liberated areas in Idlib and Aleppo countryside.
War in Syria killed more than a million people, more than half a million people were arrested, millions were displaced, and millions sought refuge in various countries of the world.
Local and international organizations began implementing campaigns to transfer the displaced people from the temporary camps to apartments established to alleviate their suffering.
Expansion of these campaigns and talks about sending refugees to the opposition-controlled areas generated concerns among Syrians about permanent residence in these new areas.
Many Syrians refused these measures, demanding their right to return to their homes from which they were forcibly displaced
Shot list:
- Soundbite (Muhammad Qutaish – Displaced):
“What has happened to us is horrible but no country paid attention to us. We have been left for 10 years in extreme poverty, facing death and murder. Now they want to resettle us by sending us to apartments, but if they prepare palaces, we do not want it. We will return to our homes even if we live in tents there. We do not want the tragedy of the Palestinian people to happen with us.”
- Soundbite (Radwan Nasif- Displaced):
“I hope that these apartments are temporary. I want to return to the area in which I used to live and live in the community in which I grew up. I do not want to live here in this area.”
- Soundbite (Muhammad Al-Darwish-Displaced):
“I have been living in this tent for 3 years. I will only leave the tent to go to my house. They want to install the Russian and Iranian militias in our areas, so I will not leave the tent unless to my house, even if I stay here for 20 years, or they build me a house, I want to return to my home and land.”
- Soundbite (Safout Obaid Al-Khalaf – Displaced):
“I will not move to the new apartments. I prefer to stay in the tent until I return to my village.”
