Storyline
Tunis hosted the “Here After” exhibition that will last until the 13th of this month, under the title ” Future Palestine.” In the exhibition, intellectuals and artists, the so-called Palestinians of the Diaspora, attempt to visualize the future of their homeland through artworks. Some of which abides by the social and cultural norms while other artworks deviated from such restrictions. Through Literary writing, drawings, and artwork, those artists challenge and reject the prevailing reality, by bold attempts to change it by depicting a bright future.

This exhibition was launched under the name “Here after” and the three main pillars of the exhibition include: the cinematic aspect, the literary aspect, along with the Palestinian magazine “Future Palestine” aspect. In the exhibition, three movies by Larissa Sansur were introduced. She is a Palestinian woman who lives in London, and her films are based on science fiction, as they present a future vision of Palestine

Karim Kattan is a Palestinian author who writes mainly in French and has many novels. He wrote a short story than can be found in the reading corner, where visitors can read the short stories that were written in English and have been translated into Arabic

The main element of the exhibition originated from Lifta magazine. Lifta is a Palestinian city from which the Palestinians were displaced in 1947. Despite the fact that it was demolished, people still remember it. when you enter the exhibition, excerpts of the magazine’s pictures and articles can be seen around the exhibition

We have a painting about Palestinian cuisine; mainly about the possibility that it will fade away one day since some plants no longer exist, not to mention chefs will no longer know how to cook these dishes. We also have a painting about three people talking about returning to Palestine

Part of the Tunisian public has discovered some aspects of Palestine cause in this exhibition. Larissa Sansour’s films and the artistic discourse in the magazine had formed a new understanding of the Palestinian cause
