Palestine –Association in Gaza manufactures prosthetics for dogs and cats out of children’s toys

205

Sulala Animal Rescue is an association in Gaza to save stray dogs and cats that have lost limbs due to wars or car accidents. Members of the association bring these wounded dogs to the shelter to be cared for and to have prosthetic limbs installed which are made with simple tools and children’s toys. The association receives appeals from the people daily to help animals in the streets, therefore members of the association take these animals to a veterinary clinic to conduct some tests and then to the shelter to follow up on their progress. The enormous number of dogs at the shelter, which reached 400 dogs, makes it tough for the association to take care of them alone, thus their members appeal to animal welfare associations, particularly those outside the Strip, to assist them.
