Tunisia – Tunisia hosts regional conference on “human trafficking”

Today, Wednesday, Tunisia organized a regional conference to launch the national mechanism for referring victims of human trafficking, the first of its type in the MENA region. The conference was attended by representatives of Tunisian governmental and non-governmental bodies, in addition to representatives of the European Union, ministries, independent and governmental bodies and institutions, civil society, international organizations, experts, and legal professionals specialized in fighting human trafficking crimes from many Arab and European countries; including Libya, Morocco, Jordan, Lebanon, Nigeria, Guinea, Mali, Switzerland and Austria, France, Italy, Portugal, and the United Kingdom. The conference’s goal is to keep track of victims, identify and identify them, and refer them towards relevant services based on their requirements, assistance, and protection.
