In an effort to help modernize education in Gaza, the teaching staff in Al-Basma private school developed a hi-tech educational robot. “Mr. Robot” is operated by an application that enables it to process information to then answer and ask questions in Classical Arabic. Moreover, the Robot is equipped with a central processing unit and a memory that analyze texts and sounds to provide answers. The aim of the Robot is to promote the principle of innovation and stimulate students’ passion for learning, especially in regard to engineering sciences. The idea of introducing a robot was surprisingly well-received as students interacted actively with the new teacher’s assistant. However, putting together the robot was riddled with impediments, in the light of the invincible siege and the subsequent scarcity of many materials and electronic parts. Moreover, about 4 models were created before deciding on this final on.
